The
Bridge
by Lisa Tawn Bergren
I ventured away from books about mothers and fathers this time.
I actually had the chance to read a novel, which I haven't done
in ages. I quite enjoyed this book. It is fiction by a Christian
author. It is a heart-warming, faith-filled, inspirational story.
I was interested in the way this book is written. It begins by
taking us back to 1961 and introducing us to some of the characters.
Then it jumps forward to the year 2000 and the lives of the main
characters. Throughout the book each chapter has excerpts from 1961.
It is neat in the way it shows you the history behind the story
and how it effects the characters and their lives today.
The main character, Jared Conway, was an infant in 1961. Now, as
an adult, he has all the material things he thinks he needs, but
wonders why he feels lost and lonely. He never dreams that, by going
back to Swan River, Montana, and facing his traumatic past, he will
find the love and inner peace for which he has always searched.
It touches the romantic in each of us.
