Interim Mission Opportunity Fund
Many times unforeseen mission opportunities occur after mission grant proposals are made and selected. These opportunities, that may emerge at any time during the triennium, would be lost without financial assistance. On your behalf, LWML–Canada General Council prayerfully considers each request for funds that are presented or approved by synodical or district mission executives. Requests must meet the general guidelines of LWML–Canada mission grants and the policy for Mission Opportunity Fund grants. |

Sewing School Support, Chinandega, Nicaragua
This sewing school has now moved to the Mission Centre in Chinandega. Daily devotions occur before the sewing lessons begin. Since its inception in 2004 more than 100 students have graduated. The skills they have learned enable them to apply for a sewing position at a local factory or establish their own business. This school not only provides skills that allow the women to support their families but is also a channel for the Gospel to be proclaimed. |

Mission Bus, La Ronge, Saskatchewan
LaRonge Lutheran Fellowship serves a community in which 74% of the people are aboriginal. There is no public transportation and many families have no car. The pastor conducts Bible studies twice monthly in a village 30 km away. The bus will allow them to attend worship. During the summer VBS average attendance is 50-75, mostly unchurched children. The bus will allow many of them to attend Sunday school during the winter. This bus will also be used to bring youth from a nearby reserve to youth group activities on Friday evenings and enable the youth to attend gatherings in Saskatoon and Regina. |
